Jacks Album 088 Picture Ron Ward:
The story I was told was that Dad and a buddy decided to go fishing in Halifax harbour. They got out, but on their return the “submarine gates” were closed. Upon their eventual return, thewy got put up in the Crowbar Hotel.

This ship was commanded by Louis Raymond Pavillard DSC, RCNR. Born 7 August 1911 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; died 4 February 1980 in santa Cruz de Tenerife. (Dad has always said he was from the Azores).
On another note when I received my Queens Scout Award, I travelled from Victoria to Vancouver (to pick up more scouts)and back. I went on the HMCS Sussexvale!
